A VIVO! shopping centre for Stalowa Wola: the foundation stone is laid

On 3 December the time had come in Stalowa Wola, Poland: the start of construction of our second VIVO! shopping centre was officially celebrated in the city, which is located in the country's southeast. About 60 guests were in attendance, among them representatives of the city, IMMOFINANZ Group, development partner Acteeum Group, general contractor Erbud, and a large number of interested journalists (including local TV stations). After the official addresses, in the customary manner the "Foundation Act" was read, signed, packed into a roll and put in the so-called "time capsule" with a couple of coins and the day's newspaper, and walled in. Then the journalists had a chance to speak: numerous questions were asked about the project, and the fact that we brought press kits with us was also appreciated (because it's apparently not a matter of course). The journalist who writes for the newspaper that was "walled in" beamed and expressed his delight about it several times. For the people of the region it is not only important that VIVO! will provide a shopping and entertainment option which is new and unique for the city, but also that the shopping centre will create as many as 800 jobs.

Things are also on the move already at the construction site: Roughly 50 persons are currently at work on the construction site, and the excavation phase is proceeding at full speed. The earth-moving and pile construction are progressing as planned and will form the focus of activities during the coming weeks. The schedule also includes steel construction and the installation of precast columns.

This new Shopping center will have roughly 32,000 sqm of rentable space for more than 80 shops. IMMOFINANZ Group is realising this development project together with the Acteeum Group, a retail project specialist (shareholdings: 86% IMMOFINANZ Group, 14% Acteeum Group). Rentals have successfully started and a number of leases should be signed in the near future; the opening is planned for Q4 2015.

Take a look for yourself: attached are a couple of pictures of the ceremony for laying the foundation stone as well as of the building site.
