Our STOP.SHOP. retail park chain is growing rapidly: on 21 April we opened in Niš, our second STOP.SHOP. location in Serbia. Bright sunshine and summery temperatures welcomed the many visitors who enjoyed a colourful daylong show for young and old. The mood was good, the interest and the urge to buy great: cheerful crowds came from all corners of the city to test this new shopping experience. The official part of the opening ceremony took place at 5:30 pm and was followed by the national star acts Goca Tržan and Željko Joksimović who entertained the thousands of visitors. And the opening also included a very special surprise: on the STOP.SHOP. stage, a young Serb asked his girlfriend to marry him.The opening in Niš is the next step in the Serbian expansion of our STOP.SHOP. retail park chain. Exactly one year ago, we opened the first Serbian retail park in this brand in Čačak and the third location in Valjevo is scheduled to open in August 2016. Eight to ten further STOP.SHOP.s are planned for Serbia during the next three to four years.
The STOP.SHOP. Niš is located in the Mediana district and has roughly 13,000 sqm of rentable space plus parking for nearly 300 cars. It can be easily reached by both private and public transportation, and the catchment area has approx. 380,000 residents. The tenants include well-known international and national retailers like IDEA, Takko, C&A, Deichmann, IDEA, Mc Donald’s, Sport Vision, Takko and Tom Tailor. Entertainment is also a key feature in the STOP.SHOP. Nis: the first movie theatre in the city will open there shortly.
