IMMOFINANZ goes green: 9 properties awarded BREEAM certificates

IMMOFINANZ is increasing the focus on the sustainable expansion of its real estate portfolio. Nine of its buildings in Austria were successfully certified under the renowned BREEAM standard. With approximately 77,200 sqm of space, the company is setting a strong sign for environmentally friendly properties in the office and retail segments.

The certified buildings provide excellent opportunities for working and shopping, but also set new standards for energy efficiency, environmental compatibility and health promotion. They underscore IMMOFINANZ‘s reaction to the growing market demand for sustainable properties and create future-oriented solutions for office and retail space.

BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method) is one of the most prestigious certification systems in the world and stands for the highest standards of sustainability and environmental protection. The successful certification of nine buildings highlights IMMOFINANZ’s commitment to sustainable development and the responsible use of resources.

Two of the nine buildings were rated "excellent" as part of the BREEAM certification, and three other properties were classified as "very good". The "excellent" rating was awarded to the location on Wienerbergstrasse 7, 1100 Vienna, for outstanding sustainability over roughly 10,000 sqm. The myhive Tower on the Wienerberg not only offers modern offices, but also includes a hotel operated by the international Holiday Inn chain. The hotel lobby on the building’s ground floor opens directly into the neighbouring shopping and entertainment center, while the hotel rooms are located on floors 8 to 21. The remaining space is used for modern offices. IMMOFINANZ’s innovative myhive concept offers tenants flexible office solutions that meet all needs. The City Tower Vienna, a landmark property in Vienna’s third district, received BREEAM certification with an "excellent" rating. The City Tower Vienna office building with roughly 26,600 sqm is located directly adjacent to the urban center at Wien Mitte and is occupied by the Republic of Austria based on a long-term lease.

The properties rated "very good" include a further office location in Vienna and two STOP SHOP retail parks in Vienna-Stadlau and Stockerau. These two locations are characterised by a diverse tenant mix, first-class shopping experience and the responsible use of resources. IMMOFINANZ has installed photovoltaic equipment at both locations to expand its production of electricity from renewable energy sources. This marks a further step towards a sustainable future and demonstrates IMMOFINANZ’s commitment to environmental protection and resource conservation.
