trivago and IMMOFINANZ celebrate topping-out ceremony in the Düsseldorfer Medienhafen
IMMOFINANZ is currently developing the trivago Campus, the future headquarters of the global hotel search platform trivago, in the Düsseldorfer Medienhafen. The completion of the shell construction was celebrated today with a topping-out ceremony that was attended by numerous construction workers, representatives of trivago and IMMOFINANZ as well as Cornelia Zuschke, Head of the Planning Department, as the representative of the Lord Mayor. This six-storey building will have approximately 26,000 sqm of office space in the first stage of construction and is rented in full to trivago through a long-term lease. The completion of the building is scheduled for 2018.
“With the trivago Campus and FLOAT, we are currently realising two impressive development projects in the Medienhafen. That makes us one of the largest real estate investors in Düsseldorf. We are extremely proud to enhance and enliven this part of the harbour with our new architectonic landmarks“, commented Oliver Schumy, CEO of IMMOFINANZ.
"Our new headquarters has cemented Düsseldorf as our local home for our international team. Looking at the growth rate from this year’s first quarter, we see this move as just the beginning of our story – thankfully the second building is there should we need it”, said Peter Vinnemeier, Managing Director of trivago.
This six-storey corporate headquarters is under construction on the Kesselstrasse in the Medienhafen and will provide space for roughly 2,000 employees. The building is designed almost entirely in the form of open space offices. It will include creatively designed rooms and kitchen areas and offer a wide range of activities sponsored by trivago ‒ from bouldering to yoga and football. The 16-storey building in the neighbouring second stage of construction will allow for the realisation of up to approximately 16,000 sqm of space.
